I'm Miss Sue

I am a home educator, course creator, author, and speaker with over 17 years of experience in early childhood education.
I am the founder of Edulallie and the owner of Lil Bebe Academy, a home-based childcare program that serves as my lab school—an intentional, nature-rich environment rooted in rhythm, joy, and the well-being of both the child and the educator.
I am also a co-author of Seeing Ourselves in Nature, contributing to the growing conversation around children, identity, and their connection to the natural world.
I present at conferences and lead in-person trainings and workshops for educators seeking a more grounded, sustainable approach to early childhood education.
Every course, guide, and resource within Edulallie is built from lived experience—developed through years of working directly with children in a full-time program. This work is not rooted in theory alone, but in real days, real challenges, and real transformation through direct work
with children ages 0–5.
After experiencing burnout—and authoring Overcoming Daycare Burnout: Steps to Living Your Best Life—I chose a different way forward, one rooted in an unhurried rhythm, meaningful connection, and a deep respect for childhood. That shift continues to shape my work today.
Edulallie was created with intention and honesty, grounded in the belief that small steps lead to meaningful transformation over time.
Whether you are navigating burnout, seeking a slower rhythm, building your own program, or longing to reconnect with nature in your work, you belong here.

A growing collection of courses, field guides, and resources designed for early childhood educators
New courses and materials are added as they are completed.
A transparent approach—you are witnessing the growth of Edulallie over time.
Rooted in lived experience, not theory alone.
Designed to support an unhurried, nature-based way of teaching and learning.
Created for home childcare and early years environments.
Meant to be explored at your own pace.
Always here for you to return to when you’re ready

Need help transforming your home childcare environment, reducing overwhelm, creating calmer rhythms, or bringing more nature-based learning into your program?
I offer personalized coaching sessions for educators seeking calmer spaces, sustainable teaching practices, outdoor classroom guidance, and more intentional learning environments.
You will step inside my home childcare and outdoor classroom. You will see firsthand how I transformed my space over the years into a calmer, more intentional, nature-rich environment that supports both children and the educator.
Together, we will walk room by room through the indoor classroom, discussing:
Why the environment is arranged the way it is
How I choose materials, books, and visual supports
What supports mixed-age learning and independent play
How I reduced overwhelm and created more flow throughout the day
The difference between cluttered spaces and intentional spaces
How small changes transformed behavior, engagement, and daily rhythms
Then we will move outside into the outdoor classroom and garden spaces, where we will explore:
Outdoor learning as curriculum—not just recess or playtime
Mud kitchens, loose parts, gardening, pollinator spaces, and nature invitations
How to create wonder using simple materials
Ways to support child-led learning outdoors
How the outdoor environment can reduce stress and bring more joy back into your days
How I built an outdoor classroom slowly over time without needing perfection or a huge budget
This workshop is designed for home childcare providers, home educators, and early years professionals who are longing for calmer spaces, deeper play, more connection, and a renewed vision for their environment. Or for someone who is eager to open their own home childcare and do not know where to start.
Each participant will also receive a pollinator garden gift to take home and begin building their own outdoor classroom habitat.
You will leave with:
Inspiration
Practical ideas you can actually implement
A new way of seeing your space
Permission to start small
A clearer vision for what transformation can look like in your own environment
Because transformations do not happen overnight - they happen one intentional shift at a time.

This intimate workshop will take place inside my active home childcare environment in DuPage County, Illinois.
To preserve the hands-on experience and allow space for meaningful discussion, reflection, and movement throughout the environment, attendance is intentionally limited to a small group of educators.
Because of the limited seating and preparation involved for each attendee, full payment is required to reserve your spot.
A Professional Development Certificate will be given at the end of the session
